Los Angeles native Donlee Yang Brussel has been writing and directing since he was a teen.
His first film, "Intoxicated Demons," a darkly comedic short shot in Los Angeles, screened at fifteen festivals, winning Best Cinematography at Seattle's True Independent Film Festival, Best Score at Microcinema Fest, and a nomination for Best Screenplay at AOF Fest.
His second film, "Cabbie," a mockumentary shot in Chicago, has screened at nineteen festivals, winning Best Short Film at the Asheville Film Festival, Best Comedy at the Dam Short Film Festival, Best Comedy Short at the Valley Film Festival, Most Inspirational Film at Seattle's True Independent Film Festival, and nominations for Best Short Film at the Santa Clarita Valley Film Festival, Best Mockumentary at the Lakedance Film Festival, and Best Documentary Short Film at the San Joaquin Film Festival.
He has directed eight music videos, the last three of which aired on mtvU and MTV2. He has also directed over a dozen TV commercials that have aired on broadcast and cable.
In 2002, he won 1st Place in the Friars Charitable Foundation's Student Screenwriting Awards for his first screenplay, "Barely Legal." In 2003, he was accepted into the Scriptwriters Network High School Fellowship. In 2005, he was accepted into the Telluride Film Festival Student Symposium.
